George Rautenbach

George Rautenbach was a founding member of Megapro Marketing in 1986 and has been instrumental in building up the Primedia Sport Group over the last 23 years.

George was born in Humansdorp in the Eastern Cape in 1956, matriculated at Paul Roos Gymnasium in Stellenbosch in 1974 where he captained the First XV and the WP Craven Week Team and played for the first SA schools during that year.

He attended the University of Stellenbosch where he attained a Bachelor of Commerce Degree and he also played for Stellenbosch First Team in the 1977 Season.

He went on to do an Honours Degree in Port Elizabeth in 1978. He spent two years doing his National Service and returned to Port Elizabeth where he played Provincial rugby for a couple of years.

George is a Trustee of the Chris Burger Petro Jackson players fund.

He got married in 1983 to Dale and they moved to Johannesburg in 1985 and have four children.
